CANNINGVALE CRITERIUM - 26 FEBRUARY 2012
The previously scheduled Canningvale Criterium for 26 February has been cancelled due to CWA and RCCC scheduling the State Criterium Titles on at the same time. This was despite everyone agreeing that 26 February was a Melville Fremantle date.
CANNINGVALE CRITERIUM - 22 JANUARY 2012
C Grade was stronger than the previous week with the race taken out by H Pennell; narrowly beating his dad C Pennell. A strong hit out for the two in their first criterium.
In the last lap of B Grade, P Speyers took a flier off the front early and the peloton were unable to go with him as he easily crossed in front the main bunch for victory.
A Grade was hotly contested with a 12 man breakaway getting away early. They were reeled in with plenty of time by the peloton. The bunch turned into the final straight with riders from curb to curb. S Hall left it to the last 10 meters to fly past a fast finishing field. An entertaining race throughout for all spectators.
AGM - 22 JANUARY 2012
The club's AGM was held following the criterium on the 22 January 2012 under the trees at Canningvale. The 2011 board was re-elected for 2012; Russell Miller (President), Ray Clancey (Vice-President) and David Brown (Treasurer). Mic Fic was elected to the vacant position of Secretary.
CANNINGVALE CRITERIUM - 15 JANUARY 2012
A large turnout was evident for all grades for the first MFCC criterium for 2012. The Juniors headed off first in the noticeable morning heat, and had a solid representation from other clubs.
In C Grade Wade McNab lead the last lap break with Carl Skinner just off his wheel taking second.
B Grade was taken out by Ben Wibberley in a sprint to the finish. A strong performance that would surely see him race in A Grade next week.
An early break of three was sustained to the finish in the A Grade; as the peloton failed to provide chase at any point throughout the race. The speed and experience of Eddie Hollands was evident as he crossed in front of Andrew Martin and Matt Irvine.
COMBINED CLUBS CRITERIUM - 11 DECEMBER 2011
Congratulations to the juniors who took part in their first race at the Combined Clubs Criterium on Sunday 11 December 2011 in Midland. Strong performances were displayed by all boys, with Evan Gaudet taking third place - a commendable effort!
CANNINGVALE CRITERIUM - 6 NOVEMBER 2011
The first criterium for the Summer season saw both A and B Grade contested in perfect weather around the Canningvale Circuit.
For the first time in the club's history, the "photo finish camera" had to be employed to determine the eventual winner for the B Grade race - with nothing separating the first two riders. Following careful review, judges ruled a tie for first place between C Baker and M Jackson.
The A Grade race saw Trent Derecout and Nathan Lyons establish an early break from the main peloton, which they successfully held on to; with 200m clear to third place. It appeared a fait accompli with Trent eventually taking the honours in what seemed a pre-determined agreement between the two riders.
